Academic university staff
Work hours
The large share of academic university staff in part-time jobs with less than 20 work hours a week can be explained by the high number of employees who are teaching (lecturers, student assistants). For predocs, 30 work hours a week is considered full-time, and the majority of third party project staff also works part-time. Compared to the general population, differences in work hours are foremost caused by contract type and to a lesser extent by gender.
