The intellectual capital report of each university includes, among other things, three key figures that explicitly focus on gender ratio. One of them reflects the appointment procedures. In 2022, eleven people were appointed at the University of Vienna, of which four were women (in 2021, there were 16 appointments, five of which were women). In January 2023, the percentage of women in professorships stood at34 %. Most appointments in 2022 occurred in the social sciences.

Approximately half of all commission members and reviewers were women. Throughout the procedures, from applications to appointments, the ratio of women increased slightly, with the highest representation during the hearings.
