Students by study programs
At the University of Vienna, study programs for bachelor’s and master’s/diploma studies are grouped into 37 directorates of studies (SPL), while the doctoral/PhD programs are distributed across 18 SPLs.
Significantly more women study humanities, cultural studies, social sciences, and life sciences. In the SPL of mathematics, sports science, physics, and computer science/business informatics, the percentage of women in bachelor's and master’s/diploma programs is below 40 %.
The situation is different in the doctoral program, where the proportion of women is above 60 % in four SPLs and below 40 % in seven SPLs.
